Resolutions ^_^
1. Slimmer and healthier: hope to regain my weight during sec sch (a secret! but i m close to it)
2. Reach new heights in career: to excel in watever i do and to do wat i really love (which i tink is procurement and PR, not only me, ppl ard me tells me i m cut out to do that!)
3. Love my parents and Granny more and more (*mucks~~)
4. Keep in touch with more old frens and extended family
5. Read more books: I have been reading lesser since i work, which is bad and imbalanced.
6. To try and go dating (if there is someone): I have been shutting myself out for 4 yrs and its really time to move on, get a life. If u know me well, u know i hardly talk about wanting to date, coz it wasnt really impt to me, but after so many yrs (u know why), I think i can let go of the past.
Speaking of books.. I am reading "For One More Day" by Mitch Albom. Hmmm..i love this book. His books are simply written, no chim chim words and long descriptions. Everything, every word and sentence that you read, you must understand and think with your heart. Your heart will lead you to the gist of his book. Must try this book! :)
New Year :)
Read an article in the newspapers yesterday and came across this phrase that I like, "Every day, we are closer to the day we die". Hmm..a lot of 'flavor' right? It teaches us to treasure every day we have, every hr/min/sec. Life is fragile, recently read in the papers that ppl just die in their sleep. Wah..can u imagine sleeping and not waking up the next day? So sad...every time u say goodnight to ur parents, it could be the last time too....hmmm..so now when i say and kiss them goodnight, i bear-hug them tightly too. I am afraid of losing ppl/things that i treasure. Haha..yah..kissing and saying goodnight has been a habit for 23yrs and its still counting. I guess even when I am married with my own family, I will still make a trip home just to say and kiss goodnight every day! Woohaa..i dun grow up, do i?
Mom went to spa yesterday and told me Jennifer (her fren there) met me last wk (when i was dining with a fren near her shop) and Jennifer told her that I am look so young, not like 23. Hmm...*pondering* u mean i dun grow old? but i like to remain and look young le, so i do pamper myself a lot > I have an Aunt, who amazingly looks like she is forever 30yrs old only! Not an exaggeration, next time i post her pic on my blog and u can judge for urself! :)
New year comes new resolutions. *pondering*

Happy Boxing Day
Was reading Shufen's blog and she wrote this statement (which i had to 'borrow' from her): "我想有些事不强求,顺其自然,不想太多,反而更多惊喜吧。" (Thanks Shufen dear, I love this statement). Hmmm..this is a simple yet deep sentence, which brought me lotsa enlightenment and realization.
Met up with my extended family over Xmas eve/Xmas itself. Wow..I'm truly impressed by my network now. I realized that almost everyone ard me knows everyone. How my uncle know my boss, my aunt knows blah blah..wow..this is wat i call a big social circle (and a useful one too). I like connections and how ppl connects to one another in work/life. I like ppl who are meaningful in my life and brings me knowledge, and ppl who loves me (hohoho). Hmmm...a small woman with big aspirations > my new yr resolution :)
Jay's song > Bai Se Feng Che > one of my fave songs..nice nice ^_^

Mentally do a count..how many reasons apply to you? Hoho :p
Tis' the season to enjoy
Flipping thru the newspapers, I realized that there are many parties, late-night shopping, new movies etc. Hmmm...happening? Do ppl feel that joy and love is in the air? The skies are getting clear these days, with little/no rain > maybe Heaven knows that Christmas is coming and we need good weather to enjoy the lights and parades. Hmmm..I am beginning to feel the season's warmth and love. Tis' a season to give love and joy and to receive some in return. :)
These days, I am discovering more and more of myself. How weird..as if I din know myself for the past 23 yrs. Haha, but i feel that I have 'elevated' to a new level of self-being. Used to demand a lot, think a lot, and made a lot of unnecessary communication, this caused a bit of destress among my family and frens, as they felt 'overwhelmed' by me. Once a fren remarked that I need too much attention and not all ppl can take it. Being the little girl I was then, I blatantly ignored her words and continue to be who i am.
Nowadays, esp since I stepped into the working world, I realized that a lot of things just won't nicely happen the way I want them to be. Sometimes things cropped up, changes had to be made (even last min) and caused disruption of plans. Did I get angry/fed up? Surprisingly (to my own surprise as well), I did not. Took it quite well and was still quite pleased. I realized that some things are unpredictable, wat will come will come, everyone has their own things to do and its virtually impossible to suit ppl's timing all the time. Communication is must but not necessary everyday. To me, this is growing up. More independent, more objective and understanding. I am adamant not to make the same mistakes again. Even Mommy was proud of me this time! Hahaha!! ^_^
Though i am more mature now, I am still a young girl at heart. Heehee, which means, I am still girlish, bubbly, smiley, cheerful, optimistic and as usual, no bout of unhappy things can make me frown!! Hohohoho :)

Weather & Mood
I dun really like Christmas. When i was young, we used to have family gathering on Xmas Eve. As I grow older, the gatherings get lesser. Frens have dates, families have their own activities. Xmas/NY is always alone, or with parents. But sometimes parents wanna re-live their days of dating too, so I must be 'automatic' la.
Looking into the mirror, I realized that my laughter has decreased, smiling face is not that often. Cannot...Evelyn is a happy girl. I must find back the happy cheerful Evelyn.
Enough said. Merry Christmas to all!! Hohoho :)
PS: Will try to continue updating my TW pics over the wkend. Laptop is still crazy... :P

Day 1 (21/11) > Taipei
Reached Taipei and after checking, we proceed to Miramar Entertainment and Shopping Complex > it houses the biggest Ferris Wheel but we did not get a ride on it coz we were starving and can't wait to eat!! After lunch, we browsed ard the counters and shops in the complex. Hmm... Taiwan has fabulous shopping! Many varieties, many house brands and of coz, lotsa stuff! I will write more about shopping in a separate blog later :)
Some pics of us at Miramar, in front of the gigantic Ferris Wheel (pardon our sleepy faces, we were tired after the early flight and hungry too...*growl growl*):

We proceed to Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall and the compound is huge, with lotsa flowers in the front garden. Of coz..we had to take pics there! Esp Mom, who is very fascinated with flowers!! :)
Next, we were in time for the guard-changing ceremony at Marty's Shrine and took pics with the two guards outside the shrine. These 2 guards stood very still and straight, no movement, even with sweat dripping off their foreheads, they cannot move. We are allowed to take pics with them, anything > except to touch them! There is a bodyguard ard them, who will stop anyone who tries to touch them, and to help them wipe their sweat, arrange their rifles, belts etc. Haha :) Which guard looks better?
That night, we went to Shihlin Night Market, a very famous night bazaar and a must-go tourist destination, even locals flock there to eat and shop for bargains. The bazaar is divided into two portions > food and clothes/accessories. Of coz we had to go to the food area first!
The chicken chop there is famous (see above) coz it comes in big pieces (abt A4 size), and its UNCUT. The queue is never ending, and i did a tally while i was there: the boss can sell 6-8 pieces of chicken per min. Hmm...Each piece is NT45 (~S$2.20), so he can earn at least S$15 in a min! Hmmm... Too bad i never try it, coz its too huge for me to finish alone! The fruits are great too and the most popular drink there is white bitter gourd juice (mixed with honey and if u like, pineapple or apple). Its cooling and at first taste, sweet. However when you drink it, it leaves a bitter taste in your mouth. Very indescrible, and I love it. A plus is that your pimples will clear if u drink coz its so cooling!
The shopping section is fantastic, but we din get to shop ard the open area, coz our group has many little kids and the guide feared that they would get lost in the open market (wat a lazy guide, coz he cant be bothered to look when they do get lost). He gave us only 45 mins to shop, but being a competent and smart shopper, i managed to get a pair of shoes, two pairs earrings and some nail polish from there! Wow! Start of my spree!
We were tired after an early flight and a long day, hence back to the hotel to sleep...it was said that the hotel/rooms have good view of the Danshui river..being pitch dark certainly does not help, hence we fell asleep w/o admiring any scenery...zzzzz....

Updates
Recently, I like Penny..Dai Pei Ni > Her new album iPenny is very nice and i also realized that her voice is low, mellow and therapeutic. Really very nice and I listened to her and Jay throughout my 7 days in Taiwan. One of her songs -- 淡水河边 is very apt for my trip, coz i stayed in Danshui for the 1st night, and went to Danshui for the whole day on the last day. After the 1st night, the next morn, when i woke up and stood on the balcony of my rm, i saw the Danshui river, mountain, and that morn, there was clouds and fog. Hmmm...can imagine?? Pictures will be uploaded in next post so do use ur imagination now!
One of my fave songs is 我们的故事 > a simple and low-key song, with guitar as one of the main instruments. Sweet, a bit sad, with some truth and Penny sang it in a 'casual' manner > hmmm..
Ok ok, i must try to sort out and upload the pics! Stay tuned!! :)

OMG
1. I realized that ppl ard me know each other long long ago! OMG!
Meaning > When i talk with frens in future, beware of wat i say, coz it might spread to another fren easily.
2. A mutual fren asked me suddenly, whether another fren of ours is hitched. I later confirmed this thru Frenster, which i just signed up. OMG! I had to know something abt my best fren thru another mutual fren.
Meaning > Can we be considered best frens? We cant even share good and bad things. Maybe its always be a one-sided frenship all along, or there is something seriously wrong with my character, hence i lost this frenship long ago. Wat i treasure may not be treasured by others?
3. After talking to frens, I realized that I m really behind times. No frenster account, blog is not updated, life is not as exciting as theirs. Our circle of frens have become so different since so long ago..different aims in life..I lost count... OMG..
Meaning > Maybe i m really out of their circle now, after browsing thru Frenster, this feeling struck me. A lost, aimless and useless feeling. I feel lousy. Wat i enjoy they do not, wat they talk abt, i dunno also. When did i become so detach from them? The last time i check my IC, i was the same age as them le.. maybe i took my steps too fast, too ahead of the pack till I feel so out of place..
4. I realized that i m the only one who loves to do spa, facial and other self-pampering stuff. Others would rather socialize and spend their wkends filled with grp activities. After talking to them, i realize that i m not doing what my age grp is supposed to do. OMG! How to fit into place?
Meaning > I m really lost..to be myself and have little/no frens or to be like them but lose myself?
OMG! I m really out of place. Feel like some kinda weirdo and clown, who is so out of place and time. Or perhaps coz i m different from them, that i lived my life too fast and too high. This is the price i have to pay and do i be myself or be like them and lose myself?

Dreams~~
Last wk, I dreamt that I was walking down a road with a guy (someone I know!), then as we walked, we walked closer and closer. Then held hands then the feeling was really good. Plus the feeling was really very REAL. Sigh..We chatted abt many things, and have a closer level of understanding.. then i suddenly woke up from my dreams!
Yesterday, another dream popped into my sleep. I dreamt that I met a guy (this one i really dunno!) at a conference, rich, handsome *winkz* and owns a company! Haha~ then dunno how we chatted and went out together then went to his house. Dunno wat kinda house that is also..4 stories high with 2 basements! Sigh.. i even 'went on a tour' of the house. Even now that i have woken up, i can still picture the house clearly! OMG~~!! This dream ended on a sweet note > a fairy tale..
Who can tell me how to decipher these dreams?!?!

Sapporo/Otaru
A picture speaks a thousand words..
An adorable 7-year-old girl in the group, who loves to stick to me. Haha :)
After the walk in the park, we proceeded to a mega shopping mall. Very nice, with glass stained windows > much bigger than the shopping centres here! And of coz, much much more interesting, I was overwhelmed by the amount of apparels they have there!!
After a delicious Hokkaido Crab lunch at Otaru, we went to the next stop > Otaru Canal. Otaru is a lively town famous for its canals, one of them being the Otaru Canal. Lining the Otaru Canal, there are many shops selling authentic Jap dolls and paperware, and the Otaru Music Box Museum is one of the highlights of the town. The shop has dolls too! Must take pic!
After vising the Museum, we had 3 hrs to explore the various shops along the street, and of coz, once I see an ice-cream stall, I had to indulge in the melon soft cone. I polished off two cones during that 3 hrs!!
The 1st cone...
The 2nd cone...
Its really unbelievable le, along the streets, there were many flowers in different colors. So beautiful. SG is more of a tree-country but over at Hokkaido, there are flowers everywhere!
Finally, we made a photo stop at the Otaru Canal. Nice! We reached there around sunset and it added to the romantic feeling in the air!

Sapporo and Otaru were the last two stops of this tour and we came back to SG the next day. Haha! The next post will be on some miscellaneous stuff during this trip :)
Very worried + anxious
Told Manager before booking and she said ok. Let her sign the leave form today.
Now left Boss. Boss needs to sign and give green light. Secretary told me I m under probation, so they have the right to NOT approve. Sigh, this marks the start of the worrying period for me.
Guess tmr morn, Secretary will bring form to Boss and let him sign. I m praying very hard that he will approve.
Please pray together with me, regardless of religion. I need all the prayers now.

Ishiya Factory

Next coming up > Sapporo > Otaru. We visited Odori Park in the morning, and saw the flowers in full bloom, with fountains as backdrop. Next we went on to Otaru, which is near the sea, and we drove past the Japan Sea. Otaru is a small town, which is famous for its seafood. Otaru Canal, Kitachi Glass Shop and the Otaru Music Box Museum are the famous places there.
Stay tuned for more pics!!

Furano, Tomita Farm -- Part 2
Only 1 big patch of lavender in the greenhouse and many ppl jostling to take photos. It was rather difficult to get a pic w/o so many ppl ard :P
Other than lavender, there are also other flowers in the greenhouse. But i do not know the names of these flowers :P Aiya! As long as the flowers are pretty, I'll snap photos!!
These flowers are in full bloom (in the greenhouse) --- hence we snapped a lot of photos. Finally we were satisfied with the pics taken, and we ventured outside to take in more natural scenery.
My fave photo...
Venturing on, we saw ppl sowing seeds for different kinds of flowers, as they were preparing for the flower season in July. There were a few plots of flowers in bloom, and as usual, many tourists were jostling to take pics.
A series of photos:

After Tomita Farm, we went to the Ishiya Factory > 白色恋人 (Shiroi Koibito). This is a famous Japanese cookie, two thin slices of biscuit, with a thin slice of white chocolate in the middle. They also have dark choc cookie. Bu the white choc is the original Isuya cookie. What really captivated us was the mini garden outside the red-brick factory.
The garden has many little houses (like the one above), and kids can go in and out of the houses to play, just like playhouses, and there are furniture inside the houses!!
Visit the site: http://www.shiroikoibito.ishiya.co.jp for more information.
More pics will be uploaded in the next post :P
Hokkaido, Furano > Tomita Farm -- Part 1
Well, guess we are all wrong..coz the scenery is truly very captivating. Especially on a sunny morning!
And i decided to play some 'camera tricks' by trying to 'hold' the tree in my palm!
Well, the best part is the endless and vast fields. Even the crops are fresh, green and neatly plotted in rows.
As we stopped by a shop to have pumpkin ice-cream (yup, they have ice-cream in many flavous, such as Lavender, pumpkin, melon, and the usual choc, strawberry.. but i did not dare to try lavender. Melon is my fave!), we saw the peak of snow-capped mountains in the midst of clouds.
Will post pics from Tomita Farm in next post. That post will have a lot of pics, coz the farm is really too beautiful!
